Santa’s Favorite Cocoa


Here’s a super awesome recipe for this holiday season. Perfect for cold nights, special  occasions and simply anytime you like. I hope you all enjoy, I hear it’s Santa’s favorite.

Hot Cocoa with Minted Caramel Sauce


1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

3/4 cup granulated white sugar

1 dash sea salt

1/3 cup hot water

3 1/2 cups whole milk

3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract 

1/2 cup heavy cream

Minted Caramel Sauce

Heavy Cream


Vanilla Extract

Mint Extract


Combine the cocoa, sugar and dash of salt in a small saucepan. Add hot water. Bring to a low boil while constantly stirring. Stir continuously until all ingredients are combined and dissolved. Add milk. Before removing from heat add vanilla. Remove from heat. Once the mixture has cooled slightly divide into mugs. Add heavy cream to the hot cocoa mixture and top with marshmallows. Drizzle with minted caramel sauce (directions below) and dust with crushed peppermint.

Caramel Sauce

In a saucepan combine (1 cup) sugar and (1 cup) heavy cream. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cook until sauce has thickened, about ten minutes. Stir in (1 tablespoon) vanilla and ( 1 teaspoon) mint extract, remove from heat. Stir until cooled.
