Alternative Florals

Alternative Florals

So, I had a few extra flowers and a dish that screamed put me somewhere. Of course many ideas started to float around in the caverns of my mind. Yet there was only one winner.

The end result can be found in the following photos.....below the words that you are currently reading.

The dish that I spoke about earlier and a crafts persons main tool....or maybe I should say one of many main tools.

A close up of the dishy dish. Which of all places was purchased at a dollar tree. They have many many more and a variety of types......go and check your local store....after you've finished reading of course !!!

A few of the extra flowers that litter the hallways of my life.

Cut the stems off if your following along and making your own. It's help them to stay tucked neatly inside fyi .

An aerial visualization of the end product. Add as little or as many flowers as you like.

A peek from the side and we are done. A super easy and quick project that can add a dose of something to any space.

Love our crafts and d.i.y projects? If you said yes to yourself....check back next Saturday for more :)

Recipe Of The Day

Recipe Of The Day

Here's our recipe of the day. The King's Supreme mini cakes with chocolate ganache.

1 1/2 Cups banana purée

2 Teaspoons lemon juice

3 Cups all purpose flour

1 1/2 Teaspoons baking soda

1/4  Teaspoon sea salt

3/4 Cup softened butter

2 1/2 Cups sugar

3 Eggs

2 Teaspoons vanilla

1 1/2 Cup skim milk

Ganache (optional)

Opt for your choice of chocolate or cream cheese frosting if you do not like ganache.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Grease and flour your pan or baking dish of choice.

In a small bowl, mix banana purée with lemon juice; set aside.

In another bowl, mix flour, baking soda and sea salt; set aside

In a larger bowl, cream 3/4 cup butter and 2 1/8 cups sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time, then fold in 2 tsp vanilla. Beat in the flour mixture while also adding your skim milk.

Fold in banana purée.

Pour batter into prepared pan and bake in oven for 45 minutes or until cakes are golden brown.

Remove from oven and place on cooling rack.

Once cake is cooled add your choice of frosting or ganache pieces.

So These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things......

So These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things......

Here are a few of the things that I'm currently adoring at the moment. A couple are well known friends and a few others are new purchases.

My LongChamp Le Pliage tote in milberry . I got this for my birthday last year and I absolutely love it. It's super sturdy and truly a classic. A rather simple handbag yet makes a statement when necessary. Also it's nylon material makes it really easy to clean.

A silver heart is forever a treasure. My mom got this for me and it's already become something near and dear. I know I will keep and wear this forever. It's a great casual piece that can transition from day to night.

Sales are the best for finding things you never knew you needed. I found this super cool wallet at target a few weeks ago. Although it's faux leather and slightly itsy. It goes with everything wonderfully and can fit the most important necessities.

I purchased this yesterday at target. It's the EOS hand lotion and it's perfect. A super essential that everyone should go and pick up. Great for those with dry sensitive skin. Leaves your hands smooth and sporting a delightful scent. The one featured is in the scent of berry blossom. If you haven't tried anything in the evolution of smooth product line, this should be your first stop.

I got these last year at Aldo. They reminded me of the 1970's for some reason and I had to have them. Their great quality and have lasted me a really long time. I love the ombré lenses the best !!!

Hope you enjoyed my ramble.
